The Matthew Foundation currently has programs focused on: research, inclusive practices, and employment initiatives.
We support research. Long term, we hope to see Centers of Excellence for Down syndrome research and care around the world. Short term, we establish endowed funds and work with universities to engage their alumni base and overall university community to support Down syndrome research. We have established the first and only endowed fund for Down syndrome research at Stanford University and are in deep conversations other top universities. We are also Founding Supporters of Trisomy 21 Research Society.
We support inclusion through sports and other areas. We are very excited to be organizing an annual celebrity Super Fest!, a Football Clinic, Cheerleading Clinic and Fan Fest, for all youth including teaching those with intellectual disabilities the game of American football. Super Fest! will take place the week of the Super Bowl in the same city as the Super Bowl.
We are signors to Commit to Inclusion which is an outcome of the Global Partnership on Children with Disabilities (GPcwd) Task Force on Physical Activity and Sport.
