The Matthew Foundation is a private operating charitable foundation that strives to make a meaningful impact for persons with Down syndrome and developmental disabilities one program at a time. We believe in collaboration and have extensive relationships within the national and global Down syndrome community as well as externally with both governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).  The founders have significant non-profit board experience in various sectors including the disability sector.  Many of on our Board of Directors and Advisors are also parents or relatives of people with Down syndrome. We engage with professionals from across the globe, including many at the United Nations that focus on marginalized and disabled communities including the Down syndrome population.

We believe that great advances can be made by people who are committed, passionate, and with a clear vision.  We are also committed to working in collaboration and partnership with individuals and organizations in the private and public sector that have similar beliefs and values.

We recognize that there are many more areas that can be improved.  We cheer on all the organizations that are advocating in those areas, but given our current capacity we are focused on three areas in which we expect we can have a long term impact - funding scientists dedicated to improving cognition through memory and learning, creating and supporting programs committed to social inclusion and integration, and encouraging private and public sector employment initiatives.

We hope you will consider joining us in these efforts!  Thank you!

Sincerely,
John Blascovich
Chair, Board of Directors
