Collaborated with Accidental Ally to help them hire four (4) people with Down syndrome in Spring/Summer 2021.  Accidental Ally is a startup dedicated to building an inclusive world and they "dream of a digital world that is accessible to EVERYONE - regardless of their abilities." They hired these paid interns to work together on projects and to work alongside their developers to gain a deeper understanding of the specific needs of individuals and their families

Invited to join the 2021 Stanford Neurodiversity Summit's Employment Subcommittee to ensure that the needs and interests of the Down syndrome community are considered. This conference has built a strong local following and international reputation for considering the

INCLUSIVE PRACTICES (current & ongoing)
Established an inclusive summer camp at Alpine Hills Swim & Tennis Club, Portola Valley, California for children of all abilities.

Provided grant for inclusive education to St. Nicholas Catholic School to become the first Catholic school in the San Jose, California Diocese to educate a middle school student with Down syndrome.

Joined, by invitation, an Advisory Committee for the Santa Clara University School of Education with a primary goal to increase inclusive education teaching practices.
POST SECONDARY EDUCATION PROGRAM SURVEY
Will you take this survey to help a private university in California explore the viability of a four-year, post-secondary, inclusive education program for people with intellectual disability?

These types of programs (see Think College,
https://thinkcollege.net/) often provide on-campus housing, accept students at a minimum of a third grade academic level, and offer significant support in all aspects of university life including academic, social, and independent on-campus living. Most student are offered employment at a living wage after graduation.
This survey is not a commitment from you or the university but is purely meant to be an early indicator for faculty to see if there is interest in this type of program in California.
