DENNIS MCGUIRE, LCSW, PHD

Dr. McGuire is a well recognized expert on mental wellness in individuals with  Down syndrome and a highly popular international speaker. He is a behavioral expert with decades of experience in mental health and developmental disabilities. He previously served as Director of Psychosocial Services, Adult Down Syndrome Center, Lutheran General Hospital, Illinois. Dr. McGuire along with Dr. Brian Chicoine established the center which annually serves thousands of adults with Down syndrome.

Dr. McGuire authored Down syndrome: Mental Wellness of Adults with Down Syndrome and The Guide to Good Health for Teens and Adults with Down Syndrome (2011) which are published by Woodbine House. He has also received the Theodore D. Tjossem Research Award from NDSC.
